About Borong Hot Springs
Borong Hot Springs are natural sulphurous thermal springs at Borong village, 35km from Ravangla on a riverside road through cardamom valleys. The springs sit beside a small monastery at the lower end of the Borong valley at 1,200m — considerably warmer than the Yumthang or Tsachu springs of higher Sikkim, and far less visited than either. Two bathing pools (gender-separated) are fed by the springs and the water temperature is comfortable rather than scalding. A half-day excursion from Ravangla combines the springs with the Temi Tea Estate drive and the valley scenery between them — the cardamom-growing villages along the road are as much the draw as the springs themselves.
