About Eagle Craig Viewpoint
Eagle Craig is the highest accessible viewpoint in Kurseong, reached by a 3km forest trail from Dow Hill. The viewpoint sits at around 2,000m on the ridge above the town and faces both north (Kanchenjunga group) and east (Teesta valley) — a panorama that takes in more of the district geography than any single view from Darjeeling town. The trail from Dow Hill through the forest to Eagle Craig is itself the main event: oak, rhododendron and dense fern-covered floor, over 200 bird species documented, and the constant shifting light through the canopy that makes Dow Hill forest famous. Eagle Craig is the natural endpoint of the Dow Hill forest walk.
